**If you are 10 minutes late to a game then the opposing team will be awarded 7 points  and your game will be shortened by however late you are to the game.  If you’re more than 15 minutes late, your game will be forfeited.

**All teams will advance to Sunday’s single elimination.

**Seeding will be based on point differential.

A free season will be awarded to the top competitive and the top rec/coed team.  Only the top six teams will advance to playoffs, which will be played May 22nd.  We will not play on Easter and needed to finish the season prior to Memorial Day weekend.  Recognizing that fact, The AFFA will be having an end of the season party following playoffs on May 22nd.  Details to come…

While we wrap up our second indoor season at The Checkered Flag, we’re looking forward to some awesome upcoming events.  Next Sunday, March 27, 2011 we have our competitive playoffs.  Just one week later we have our Recreational/COED playoffs followed by a the beginning of a third, final indoor season at The Checkered Flag beginning April 3, 2011. The next Rec/COED season begins April 10, 2011.   April 1, 2011 The AFFA will host its first-ever Wiffle Ball tournament.  Email us for more details.  This is sure to be an exciting night–because you’ll make it that way.  There will be a pitcher race and cash prizes for the tourney’s winner.

April 30, 2011 is our annual Beach Bowl tournament.  This indoor 4 v 4 tournament played in the sand at The Checkered Flag will be styled in double elimination, 6-man roster, pitcher race, winner receives prizes redeemable at local establishments.  The cost is $125 and early registration is encouraged!  Just like last year, we invited the Miller girls to come check out your flag skills while they pass around prizes and play drinking games with you.  Email us for more details.

Looking to May: We will be continuing the competition at Willie Beamon’s, located in Neenah.  We will keep you updated for details regarding those seasons.  Has anyone ever had their Mad Cow burger?  We hear their wings are some of the best around.

Our 7 v 7 season’s playoffs will be Jan. 5 at Players Choice of the Fox Cities. Heading into playoffs undefeated is The 10th Frame, if you haven’t been out to see these games this would be a great time to start. Anyone think they’ll finish 10-0? The next season begins Jan. 12.

Competitive 4 v 4 playoffs are Jan 2 at The Checkered Flag. I’m not sure what’s going to be more exciting, making sure playoffs are done before the Packer/Bears game or seeing who wins. No. 1 seed going into these playoffs is P-Ral…I think you’re familiar with them. Who thinks they’ll win? The next season begins Jan. 9, sign up! There are currently new teams already signed up waiting for you!

Of all the seasons to watch, stop by or even get a team in or try to beat the Recreational/COED is it. This division offers more competition than the competitive division, but…it has girls! Currently, there are some teams in the competitive division who couldn’t beat the teams in this division. This season still has two more weeks until playoffs and that’s two more weeks of solid flag football played the best way–this division has fun. Ever seen a guy get burned by a girl? (more talent there than he thought) It’s hilarious when a girl jukes a guy until he’s flat on his ass, or when the girls on the team have more TD’s than the guys. Playoffs for this division will be Jan. 16, putting your opportunity to join Jan. 23. Come out and watch playoffs!

So, it’s the weekend before the Super Bowl. The weather is, well…it’s sunny. The best thing to do is play in The AFFA’s annual Snow Bowl Jan. 29-30. This outdoor tournament is played 7 v 7 style, but 5 v 5. It will be hosted at Willie Beamon’s in Neenah. There are lights on the field and a full bar and restaurant inside. Prizes will be awarded for first place in each division (competitive and coed). P-Ral has won this tournament a few years in a row and is looking to have it changed to P-Ral’s Snow Bowl. Will your team be the team who stops that record?

Here’s to you 2010, you’ve brought great seasons, awesome players, fantastic teams and sweet tourneys. Bring it on 2011, we’ve got some more games to play.

The recreational games came down to Team F.U.E. and Bullseye Screenprinting in the championship game.  Bullseye went in undefeated and Team F.U.E. went in with one loss.  In a double elimination tourney this meant team F.U.E. needed to beat Bullseye, twice.  Unfortunately for Bullseye, but proving to help Team F.U.E.’s game, Bullseye had a few injuries in the championship game.  Team F.U.E. pulled off unbelievable back-to-back wins against Bulleye to win the tournament.

Tournament favorite, P-Ral and new comer Maui Wowi made it to the championship game in the competitive division on Sunday.  While the players on Maui Wowi were not new to the game, they were new to each other and weren’t able to beat veteran teammates P-Ral.

The next tournament will be September 18-19 at Willie Beamons.  This tourney will be 9v9 with cash prizes.
